Checklist for Transfer Students
Student Responsibility prior to Transferring
- Read the catalog of your four-year universities! Get on the Web!
- Check for lower-division prep on ASSIST.org.
- Surf the CSU or UC websites.
- Met with a representative or called the department you are interested in.
- Schedule your math/English and speech (CSU) and 60 TS units to be completed by spring.
- Read about the GE/IGETC certification on the back of the 4T and 10T forms.
- Attended an application and essay workshops conducted by the Transfer Center.
You can apply on-line and it is highly encourage by the four-year universities.

Transcripts
Many universities are requesting
self-reports online at the end of your fall semester. Official
copies from all colleges you have attended and your final LPC
transcripts need to be sent by July 15th, along with your GE/IGETC
certification. Discuss your certifications with a counselor and
follow through on completing paperwork in Admission and Records.
Students need to order transcripts by submitting a signed request
either in person or by mail.

Follow Through
- Complete all the courses you entered on your application with a “C” or better.
- If you drop a class or need to repeat a class in summer, it might compromise your admissions so you need to be in contact with your four-year universities.
- Read information that is mailed or emailed to you and respond!
- If you change your address or planned courses let them know.
- Sent in your Intent to Register form by deadline (UC - June 1) with your $100
- Housing - varies at each campus for transfer students so check it out prior to being admitted for best options.
- Financial Aid - file March 2, 2006 for Fall 2006
- Attend orientations which are usually in July/August on your four-year campus. Some campuses charge for this but this is important for your smooth transition.
- Some colleges require medical verifications for admissions and others require a writing skills test as a graduation requirement.
- Follow through!
