Special Transfer Programs
Programs that bridge Las Positas College students to four-year universities
- Cross-Registration/Concurrent Enrollment with East Bay and Berkeley
Cal State East Bay 
- Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) outlines the coursework necessary to guarantee later entry into CSUEB. This contract can begin when a student has completed a minimum of the 12 units. This program is not available for F1 or H visas, second bachelor's degree or impacted programs. TAG waives the $55 application fee when transferring. Paper work can be obtained from the Career/Transfer Center, Bldg. 900 and the Counseling office, Bldg. 700. TAG agreements must e completed no later than one year prior to entry into CSU East Bay. Not available to nursing major.
- Cross-registration for students who have
completed 20 transferable units. Meet with a Counselor to
learn more about this program which enables students to enroll
at CSU, East Bay for upper division courses or any
courses not offered at LPC. Students must carry 12 units
between the two campuses with a minimum of 6 units at LPC.
There is no fee for the CSUEB courses and student must use
the add-in procedure at CSUEB. (Their quarter schedule is
on-line) Paper work can be obtained from any counselor in
700 or 900.
Fall 2008 Cross Registration Procedure - Cross Registration form or Pick up cross-registration form (B700 or 900)
- Get on-line to see CSU EB quarter schedule (Fall, Winter, Spring) to see what classes work with your LPC semester schedule and your future goals. (upper division courses are OK)
- Make an appointment (B 700) to see a LPC Counselor to discuss appropriate classes/prerequisites.
- If you make the decision to proceed, complete the CSUEB cross registration form with your CSUEB classes and have the LPC counselor sign.
- Take the completed form to A&R to get the Director of Admissions’ signature. (B 700)
If you are a financial aid student, meet with LPC FA staff to see if this program impacts your aid. (B1500) - Proceed to CSUEB on the first day of class (September 24, 2008) and “sit it” to receive instructor’s signature on the cross-registration form.
- When all signatures are obtained bring take the form to CSUEB admission office for the final signature by the staff in that office.
- Bring a copy back to LPC admission office after the second week of classes. The staff will make a copy for the Transfer Counselor.
- Complete your classes at both LPC/CSUEB according to regulations/deadlines.
- CSUEB transcripts will be sent to LPC two weeks after grades are posted and put on the LPC transcripts.
CSU Monterey Bay 
- Transfer Admission Agreement is available to students who are California residents. Students who have completed 30 transferable units are encouraged to meet with a LPC Counselor to determine eligibility which includes completing the four basic skills courses in Area A (Speech/two English courses) and Area B (math) with a "C" or better and have a 2.0 grade point average and completing 56 transferable units by the time of transfer. This agreement is available for fall semester only the the deadline to apply is the end of October. Eligible students will receive early acceptance notification,$55.00 fee waiver, and early registration.
San Jose State University 
- Transfer Admission Agreement for Fall is a guaranteed admission to San Jose State but does not include impacted majors. Students need to complete GE course work and meet with a Counselor to begin a contract. The filing deadline is late October. This agreement waives the application filing fee and gives priority registration when enrolling at San Jose. Your CSUmentor application must be filed by Nov 15 for Fall. For more information
UC Berkeley 
- Concurrent enrollment program for students who
have completed 20 transferable units with a 2.4 GPA can enroll
at UCB for one lower division course per semester (course
# 1-99 at Berkeley) for the maximum of two semesters. The
student must carry 12 units between the two campuses. There
is no fee for the UCB course and students must use the add-in
procedure at UCB! (Their semester schedule is on-line) Paper
work must be completed at Las Positas two weeks prior to
enrollment and the form can be obtained from a LPC Counselor.
Fall 2008
- Make an appointment to see a Counselor to discuss this program. Information is available in Building 900 and 700.
- First list of tentative LPC students need to be sent to UCB -August 13, 2008
- Fall Semester begins at UCB -August 27, 2008
- Final papers with UCB faculty signatures must be turned into the LPC Transfer Center by September 19, 2008
UC
Davis
- Transfer Admission Agreement (TAG) is available to students who have completed 30 transferable units with a 2.8 -2.9 GPA. This program admits to the major, so major preparation is required and that information is available in the guidelines. The guaranteed admit GPA varies by college. The College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences is 2.80. A minimum GPA of 2.9 for transferable work is required for the College of Letters and Science and the Division of Biological Sciences. The College of Engineering's minimum GPA varies by majors. Students must have these GPAs at the time their TAA is written and must maintain it throughout the remainder of their transfer work with no grade below a "C". If a student's TAG is accepted, an UC application is still required within the priority filing period. UCD does not accept TAG or regular applications in Spring. International Students are eligible!
- Fall 2009 TAG now available @ http://admissions.ucdavis.edu/taa See a LPC Counselor by making an appointment (424-1400) prior to the end of August. TAG agreements are not done on drop-in counseling at Las Positas College. Information materials are available in the Transfer Center, Building 900. First group of TAGs will be sent Sept 4, 2007.
UC
Santa Cruz 
- 2009 UC, Santa Cruz TAG for students who have completed 30 UC transferable units with a 2.9 GPA. Students can enter this agreement where minimum UC eligibility, general education and major preparation are considered. Choice of major is not guaranteed through the TAG program and UCSC will accept Fall agreements between August 1 and mid October. Agreements are only available in the Fall and students who have international records outside of the U.S. are not eligible for TAG . Make an appointment a Counselor to begin your contract. UC Riverside 
- 2009TAG program is a guaranteed admit for community college students.
- A UCR Transfer Counselor will write a student's TAG contract when they have met the following criteria as a community college student.
- BUSINESS MAJOR IS NOW OK FOR TAG (not engineering majors)
- Students must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident. Because of the complexity of international academic records, students on visas are not eligible for TAG.
- All student coursework must be completed at a California Community College. Although UCR accepts coursework from other colleges and universities, they write TAG contracts for students with coursework taken exclusively at the California Community Colleges.
- Students must have at least 30 semester (45 quarter) UC-transferable units with a minimum 2.80 grade point average. Majors in the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences require a minimum g.p.a. of 3.0.
- Student must have completed or have in progress the mathematics and English courses necessary to satisfy regular UC admission requirements.
UC Irvine 
- 2009 TAG UC Irvine offers on-the-spot, provisional admission to qualified students attending any California community college. They offer a Bay Area rep to meet with students.
- TAG requirements: 60 transferable semester units by the quarter they intend to enter UCI: 2 transferable courses in English composition, 1 transferable math course in mathematical concepts or quantitative reasoning
- Important note: The English and math requirements must be completed one full term in advance of actual enrollment at UCI.

St. Mary's College of California
- Transfer Admission Agreement
Fall 2009 deadline for this agreement is December 1st and application needs to be filed by January 15. Students need: 23 semester units with a minimum 2.6 GPA by the time they transfer, earn a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA in major courses and complete one high school algebra and one year high school geometry or their equivalents with a grade of "C" or higher prior to enrolling at St. Mary's. ASSIST will help you determine if you will received credit for courses you've already taken, or plan to take and how those courses apply to a specific academic major or general education requirement.
